A love of piercing.
Body piercing has been the dream job for me, and 5 years ago, I had the chance to make it a reality. Having worked in a couple of studios, one considerably better than the other, I have ended up making my home in Brackley Tattoo Studio. A small, quiet studio, owned by a good friend, I get to run my business how I believe it should be run. No cutting corners, high levels of cleanliness and an ever increasing range of beautiful jewellery.
I have a love of technology, which transfers well into the studio, where I run high-end, high-speed autoclaves, anodise jewellery myself and am constantly looking for better ways to work. I’m always happy to talk through what I am doing and what all of the equipment is for.
I am always looking for new ways to learn, through online, attending conferences and by questioning everything that I hear. I now perform all piercings using a fully sterile set up. All equipment and jewellery sterilised just before use, sterile gloves and gauze unpacked immediately before use, and cleaning the area to be pierced twice. The reusable markers have now been binned, and single use marking techniques are used. A HEPA filter is constantly blowing away in the corner to reduce contamination risks to the minimum.
